Labour Market KristiansandThemeThe pilot deals with the effects of demographic changes on the labour market in terms of labour force and demand for competence. Short description of the pilotKnutepunkt Sørlandet is a network consisting of seven municipalities in Southern Norway. This region is already experiencing labour shortage, and in the future, demographic changes will require a large increase in labour force. A significant growth in the elder population entails an increased need for workers in the health care branches, and low birth rates result in shortage of labour in the future. Simultaneously, the state owned hospitals request the same competence as the municipalities. The private sector requests the same labour force as the public technical sector. There is also a shortage of teachers in the nursery schools. In many departments, there is lack of personnel with the right competence. Hence, the purpose of the pilot is to develop measures to recruit and keep highly qualified personnel in the fields of social health care, the technical branches and the school network. Main aimThe main aim is that the municipalities of Knutepunkt Sørlandet and Vest-Agder County have sufficient personnel with the relevant competence in all departments, while at the same time maintaining the perspective of diversity within the labour force. Co-partnersThe project will primarily involve various sectors in the Municipality of Kristiansand, the Chamber of Commerce and the County of Vest-Agder. In addition, we will cooperate with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Office. back to list |
