Short description of the pilot

The concept of the pilot is the further development of an inner-city area of Hamburg to achieve a suitable standard of living for the inhabitants. Together with local partners, the DC Noise pilot intends to create a network within the area which will be able to initiate necessary discussions, take action and improve living conditions. Topics are communication, activity, connecting generations, housing conditions and mobility. Part of the development should be the experience of a community service and the integration of volunteers, their commitment and participation on different levels for creating an attractive place to live and work in.
For housing and quality of life in old age self-determination, security, stimulation, contacts and, depending on the needs, nursing care are important topics. Innovative housing, i.e. housing cooperatives, multi generational housing, housing communities and offers for dependent people with dementia who are no longer able to live alone in their apartments might be the outcome. The offer of new housing and care alternatives for people in need of care will be a good solution. Additionally the concept may integrate offers of social and cultural activity and supply of daily goods.

Main aim

 Main aim of the pilot is the attendance and moderation of the local coordination and work progress with the local groups and stakeholders. The pilot is going to cooperate and coordinate the local activisms, support the network and contribute to the network. The matter of “generation just city” and the participation of the inhabitants will be the focus of all activity.
