Short description of the pilot
The Grey Matter (De Grijze Massa) is an innovative research project to secure the knowledge of employees in anticipation of the ongoing increase in labour mobility and an ageing workforce. Through DC NOISE, the results of this pilot will be communicated. The 'De Grijze massa' foundation was initiated by a group of entrepreneurs and Hogeschool Zeeland to develop an innovative methodology to value, secure, and transfer company-specific core-knowledge of experienced employees.
This methodology is aimed at:
- valuable explicit and implicit knowledge within companies
- the securing and transferring of knowledge within daily work routines
- a flexible application and broad availability of the methodology
- using ICT as a tool to support the goals of the project
- Initially, companies in Zeeland in the industrial sector
Main aim
- Combating the loss of knowledge within companies
- Safeguarding the core knowledge of older and experienced employees
- Making available and disseminate this knowledge within companies
- Innovation of existing knowledge system
Expected results
- An innovative methodology to answer the problems of the loss of knowledge at company level.
- Full accessibility of the results of the research project, fit for communication with target groups throughout Europe.
- A network of people and organisations related with labour market, knowledge management and safeguarding knowledge of retiring employees.
