Communication
Short description of the pilot
Development of novel communication strategies to stakeholders are needed to effectively increase awareness and understanding of how interrelated issues will change with the implementation of demographic change strategies. Through the use of a novel computer generated 3D model, scenarios identifying different effects of demographic change policy implementation will be developed to communicate complex data to wider stakeholders.
Main aimThe actions proposed will be to develop an approach for the assessment and communication of the effectiveness of the delivery of a sustainable strategy for population decline. New ideas, best practice and experience will be communicated through international meetings, conferences and international pilots.
Expected results
National dissemination workshops will be held involving contributions from Local Authorities and Scottish Government officials. Reports of the outcomes of the workshops will be widely disseminated investigating how the visualisation tool can enable the effective engagement of wider stakeholders and provide an effective communication strategy for local authorities on demographic change and public policy implementation.
Co-partners
The pilot projects will be led and managed by the University of Abertay Dundee, with Dundee City Council, Scottish Enterprise Tayside and the Scottish Government as policy partners. The University of Abertay Dundee will combine expertise in policy implementation and sustainability assessment, with our world leading expertise in modelling complex systems and computer arts and visualisation. back to list |
