Transnational Housing Atlas; A new project from the City of Hamburg: IBA project Veringeck
In the Reiherstiegviertel on the Hamburg Elbe island Wilhelmsburg lives a very multicultural society, the elderly (over 60-year-olds) to over 50% being Turkish immigrants. In the framework of the International Building Exhibition the project "Veringeck" shall exemplarily fill the large gap in the field of culturally sensitive health and social care for dependent elderly migrants. In addition, there also originates the first living community for Muslim seniors suffering from dementia.
