Groningen: Open Day Health Care 2009In The Netherlands, on March 21st, the annual Day of Health Care took place. In the province of Groningen a Health Care Fair was held, a special Health Care Paper was distributed to 450.000 households and various institutions opened their doors. Within the perspective of the shrinking population in the north-eastern part of the province of Groningen, special attention was directed to expected shortages on the health care labour market. In an article in the Health Care Paper the consequences of the population decline were described and the importance of cooperation between different stakeholders was emphasised. In the region, steady collaboration structures of municipalities, employment offices and the regional centres for vocational education already exist. In the DC NOISE pilot Health Care Strategy East Groningen we have joined these existing structures in order to improve the connection between demand and supply on the health care labour market. The purpose is to make maximal use of the capacities of the people in the region and, by this, to constitute a vital health care labour market. On the Health Care Fair, job seekers were informed about their opportunities in health care. Read the whole article? Click here Note: The article is written in Dutch.
