DC NOISE results from partner Hamburg

As well as globalisation, energy supply, and climate change, demographic change is considered to be one of the greatest challenges
in Europe. Town planning, regional development, the job market and social security systems will have to react early to population aging.
The DC NOISE project deals with the demographic change in differently structured regions of the North Sea area with the aim of developing adaptation strategies, for example, to (re-) employ older people, as well as to develop a new range of services and new housing forms for older people.

At fi rst sight, Hamburg appears less affected than other cities and regions. The population is still growing, but even in Hamburg the
population is aging. Under the umbrella of DC NOISE, innovative approaches and research in the job market, as well as in district and
public space area redevelopment areas, have been developed.

The brochure at hand gives an overview of the fi ndings of the Hamburg subprojects of DC NOISE.
