DC NOISE is presented during the German informative event on Interreg IV B

Husum, 30. September 2008

About 120 stakeholders from the German North Sea states came together in order to catch up on
the current development of the Interreg-programme. They had the opportunity to gain insights in
running projects as well as technical terms of the programme.

The political representatives from the County of Nordfriesland and the Ministry of Schleswig-Holstein mentioned that the Interreg-programme is not very well-known – despite its success - and that the prefinancing by the project partners up to one year is still a problem that has to be solved. They stressed the need of a better publicity to get the regions – including the political level – better involved in Interreg. Christian Byrith, Head of the Secretariat in Viborg, reflected on the first two application rounds in Interreg IV B and explained the key issues for a good application.

During the meeting two of the running projects were presented, one of them was DC NOISE. Birte Adomat (Bremen Region) and Guido Sempell (City of Hamburg) gave a short presentation focusing on the characteristics of DC NOISE and particularly on its factors of success. The other project presented was POWER CLUSTER - Developing the North Sea Offshore Wind POWER Cluster.

The afternoon was dedicated to the rather technical terms of Interreg: sub-partner, first level control and the EU directive on financial allowances. The meeting ended up with round tables where the preparation of an Interreg-project was practiced exemplarily.

The long report of the meeting and the presentations (mostly in German) can be found here: http://www.interreg-nordsee.de/veranstaltungsarchiv.html
