DC Noise: What if we all get older?

Pascal de Meyer had an interview about DC Noise. He is interviewed for the provincial (East-Flemish) information magazine Informeel. This bi-monthly publication has a circulation of 29,500 copies, mostly in East-Flanders of course.

In the interview PdM tells about the background of the project, how it was initiated in Twente and how East-Flanders got involved.
The main demographic changes that have inspired the birth of the project are mentioned (ageing, depopulation, shortage of highly educated employees). PdM describes the transnational projects - a bit more elaborate for the monitoring project in which East-Flanders works together with project initiator West-Flanders. A significant part of the article is devoted to the East-Flemish demonstration project "A healthy care for the health care", and how this is being developed together with RESOC Gent en rondom Gent and RESOC Meetjesland-Leiestreek en Schelde. PdM stresses the problem of disappearing knowledge when older employees retire. The timing of the project is mentioned, and last but not least the financial support of the EU, that can amount to a maximum of 50% of the total project cost of 6 million EUR.
